At Mile 52 cheering on the Parish Walkers yesterday… with The Cook Shack and others. For those who don’t know it’s a gruelling 85 mile course around the Island’s parishes on (open) roads to be completed within 24hrs. A great event!

The Western Civic Amenity Centre are at the Cathedral today for the start of the Green Pilgrimage, and are here to answer any questions you may have about recycling, and offer some hydrating local spring water.

Apple season has started

Hi Folks, Apple season has started
We have the first two variety’s of this year apples for sale at the Apple orchard.
The Dessert apple available today is the Discovery .
Apple Discovery
A seedling of Apple Worcester Pearmain discovered in Essex the late 1940s, Apple Discovery shares its parent’s early fruiting, brilliant colour and strawberry flavour. The fruit is small to medium sized, round, slightly flattened, and shiny red, with juicy, pale cream-coloured flesh, sweet-sharp with a hint of strawberry.
There is also the first cooking apple option available at the Apple orchard in bags and the bigger quantity option of a box.
The variety’s change weekly as different ones ripen and are ready for sale and as run out of the current apple variety’s.
